We Can Do It; let’s Transform Five IDPs

In 2019 I was privileged to be on the entourage of Her Royal Majesty Dr. Mrs. Felicia H Ayatse, with some American missionaries Ignition633 for an assessment at various Internally Displaced Persons(IDP) camps in Benue State. We met deplorable living conditions and knew these IDPs needed and deserved better. On the 22nd of November 2019, some of the camps were deserted because the red cross society brought food for distribution, and the road network was poor; hence the vibrant ones left their camps in search of food at Daudu camp II.

Globally, the year 2020 has been challenging on different fronts, and for an average Nigerian, this year 2020 has been a little more challenging. But, it’s a year that has seen many young people embrace online courses and learning so as to acquire new skills.

For me, I was admitted to Microverse (a global remote pair programming school with a 4% acceptance rate) as a web developer. The journey so far has not been easy, considering the amount of work and resources that I have given in to learn. Still, each passing day makes coding fun to me, and I am delighted I will be coming to the end of my web development program very soon.

Today, I thought about how best to appreciate God for giving me an opportunity to try and succeed, and the children who have left home came to mind. Some of these kids(children) have been in IDP camps for years without any proper attention or education. I believe and hope with your kind support, we can transform the LIVES of at least FIVE IDPs to become self-sufficient, and they can, in turn, assist other family members in standing on their feet.

I do not have money to share with them, but I can give them the power to hope again for a better future by giving them the skills and an enabling environment to achieve their dreams FREELY. Generous donations, likes, and shares can help us achieve all these by getting the attention of willing supporters of this idea.

All that is left is the resources to get laptops for them, feeding for about a year, and so forth. As a celebrity, you can donate autographed balls/materials and jerseys, or whatever you may so wish. We’ll auction it to raise funds for this project. As a good-spirited fellow human being, public figure you can decide to donate any of the needed equipment to assist us in carrying out the project. We can also accept cash. Whatever means will be easier for you to support this noble cause we will appreciate it.

We hope to raise this fund/needed items to commence training on or before March 2021 depending on the availability of resources.
